Armenian Defense Ministry not confirming information about attempt of Azerbaijani air force jet to violate Armenia's air space - UPDATED

"Information about the attempt to violate the air space of Armenia is false", Armenia's Defense Minister Mikael Arutyunan said. He said the system of air defense of Armenia would not allow tresspassing the border from anywhere", Panorama.am said.

At the same time, the Minister added that the flights of Azerbaijani aircrafts have intensified in the recent week. Yet he is sure that they do not attempt to trespass the border, just holding trainings.

"Azerbaijanis are well aware that Armenia has the most updated system of air defense in the region and nobody can trespass the border unnoticed", the Minister noted.

Spokesman for Azerbaijan's Ministry of Defense Eldar Sabiroglu rebutted information provided by Armenia's Defense Ministry in his interview to Day.Az saying that no such event has ever occured.

The due information has been provided by Panorama.am with reference to a source, close to Armenia's Defense Ministry.

The source also reported that the flights of Azerbaijani air force jects from the side of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and frontline regions of the self-appointed "Nagorno-Garabagh republic".

Day.Az has appealed for comments to Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry.
