Samed Seidov: "There are no political prisoners in Azerbaijan"

"There are no political prisoners in Azerbaijan, there are problems in the sphere of human rights protection. This problem exists in the whole world", head of Azerbaijani delegation in PACE Samed Seidov told Novosti-Azerbaijan, while commenting on the opinion of a number of PACE deputies about the appointment of a new rapporteur for political prisoners in Azerbaijan.

He said the Azerbaijani government can settle the problem of the human rights protection.

"Therefore, even international organizations do not have doubts about this. We have not faced any problems on the issue during the recent session of the Parliamentary Assembly. PACE intends to settle the problem in the sphere of human rights in close cooperation with us. The government of Azerbaijan carries out the duel work in this sphere", he announced and added that a special work group, which assembles periodically to discuss issues in this sphere has been created for the resolution of problems in the sphere of human rights protection.
