USAID presents "Civil society" project

Six coalitions composed of NGOs, organizations, business circles and media publicized their plans for bringing citizens and the government together through the companies aiming to improve socio-economic situation in Azerbaijan.

The US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Anne Derse said that the US is ready to assist the development of civil society in Azerbaijan and in the world, APA reports.

"People have to know their rights, take active part in the formation of civil society, and the state has to help in this," she said.

The Ambassador expressed gratitude to Azerbaijani government, especially President's Office and Economic Development Ministry for their assistance in the implementation of the project "Civil society".

Presidential Administration officer Tahir Suleymanov expressed gratitude to the US and USAID for assistance in the development of civil society.

"Azerbaijani government will further support the projects on civil society," he said.

Following this, the representatives of six local coalitions delivered reports.
