President Aliyev meets LAS ambassadors

Opening the event, Secretary-General of the League Amr Moussa said his organization attaches great importance to the expansion of cooperation with Azerbaijan, which became a leader of the region.

President Aliyev, in his turn, stressed the importance of this meeting, saying development of economic relations between the two countries had been in the focus of attention during all the meetings and talks held. The President also expressed satisfaction with the existent level of ties.

Touching on the economical achievements of Azerbaijan, the Head of State invited businessmen of Egypt and other Arab states to the country.

"We are satisfied with the level of relations between Azerbaijan and Arab states. We cooperate both on a bilateral basis and within the framework of the Organization of Islamic Conference. Azerbaijan has opened its embassies in 7 Arab countries within short time and this process will be continued. We are interested in development of relationships with these nations," President Aliyev underscored.

The Azerbaijani Leader told about the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, its grave consequences for the country, as well as ongoing peace talks to find a solution to the problem. He thanked the LAS member-states for supporting Azerbaijan's territorial integrity.

After the meeting, the Azerbaijani President answered the questions of journalists.

The Head of State said Azerbaijan does not do any nuclear researches. According to him, Azerbaijan's energy reserves will allow to supply itself and its partners with oil and gas for at least 100 years with the country continuing to contribute to the world's energy security.

The President pointed out Arab companies work in Azerbaijan, and the country will try to increase their number and scope of work in the future. AzerTAg
