Abbas Lisani not to be exiled

The three-year exile on Abbas Lisani, one of the most prominent right activists in Azeri provinces of Iran has been lifted.

A trial on Abbas Lisani will be held on May 17 in Tabriz City Court, Lisani's wife Rugayya Lisani told APA.

Lisani faces charges of organizing rally to Bazz tower. His wife said Abbas Lisani will be released in 9 months, if he is not sent for a new sentence term. She also said her husband is recovering.

Abbas Lisani was arrested in November 2006, with the charges of subversive activity against Iranian state system and propagating separatism in the Azeri provinces of Azerbaijan.
