Michael Arutyunyan to act as Armenian Defense Minister

The chief of Armenian armed forces staff, General lieutenant Michael Arutyunyan was appointed to the post of defense minister for a temporary period.

Arutyunyan will carry on this position by the ratification of the new composition of the government, APA reports.

President Robert Kocharian issued an executive order on appointing acting defense minister Serge Sarksyan to the post of Prime Minister. Under other executive orders, Sarksyan was dismissed from the posts of defense minister and Security Council’s secretary.
