President Aliyev receives UN Secretary-General's Rep on the Human Rights of IDPs

Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev today received the delegation headed by Walter K?lin, Representative of the UN Secretary-General on the Human Rights of Internally Displaced Persons.

President Ilham Aliyev said Armenian occupation of our territories and the ethnic cleansing policy against Azerbaijanis created more than one million İDPs and refugees who live in bad life conditions.

Azerbaijan President said the government has spent hundred million dollars on improvement of life conditions of refugees and IDPs and building districts for them.

Besides, Azerbaijan President stressed the temporary character of these actions, expressing confidence that refugees and IDPs will soon be brought back to their homes.

Informing Azerbaijani President on his activity, the UN envoy said he will report UN Human Rights Council on his mission's results. He expressed satisfaction on Azerbaijan government's efforts aimed at improving life conditions of refugees and IDPs, President Office's press service told APA.
