"All the participants particularly stressed positive processes ongoing in Azerbaijan. Andres Herkel addressed today's debate as co-rapporteur. The other co-rapporteur Tony Lloyd has sent a special letter to the meeting. He noted the positive processes and some issues causing concern in Azerbaijan.
"I consider that today's debate was distinguished for its constructiveness. Three members of our delegation addressing the meeting restated Azerbaijan's position. I want to draw your attention to a moment. The position of Azerbaijan is fully reflected on the part of the report connected with the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. It is very important for us. Firstly, the document drawn up by the Monitoring Committee reflects the Council of Europe's resolution on the Nagorno Karabakh. Secondly, Nagorno Karabakh is shown as the territory of Azerbaijan in the report," he said.
Seyidov said that the most critical moments are connected with the situation of media and ANS TV.
"Political prisoners were not mentioned at the discussions. The issue on political prisoners has already been removed. We are dealing with this problem through the working group, and issues like that are positively solved. President Ilham Aliyev's latest pardon decree was particularly stressed during the debate. Mr. Herkel presented the list of pardoned people. This decree was approved very positively," Seyidov told the APA.
