Former South Korean Foreign Minister Ban Ki-Moon thanked the government of Azerbaijan for support his candidatature to the post. He will succeed Kofi Annan as Secretary-General on January 1, 2007.
In his letter, Ban Ki-moon highly appreciates the close business ties aimed to enhance the relations between the two countries within the last three years, according to the press-service of Azerbaijan Foreign Affairs Ministry.
As UN Secretary-General, he assured to do all the best to enhance the cooperation between the world states, hoping that the government and people of Azerbaijan will take an active part in this cause. AzerTAg
