17 May 2006 [13:24] - TODAY.AZ
Prosecutor-General's Office has received four appeals from the Central Election Commission (CEC) and Precinct Election Commissions (PEC) related to the 13 May repeat parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan.

The Prosecutor-General's press service told APA that the appeals were sent by the Binagadi Constituency 2 #9, Nizami (Ganja) ConEC 2#38, Surakhani ConEC 2#31 and Zagatala ConEC #110. One of these appeals was rejected. Two of them are being investigated.

A criminal case has been launched on the basis of the appeal about the parliamentary candidate Khalig Ahadzadeh, who was nominated from Surakhani ConEC 2#31. Ahadzadeh turned out to have beaten citizen Azayev Yakob Aleksandrovich at the election headquarters in Altun palace in Yeni Guneshli district on March 30 this year. The investigation is underway under article 221.1 (assaulting) of the Criminal Code.
