The French ambassador to Armenia, Decottigny, has become utterly insolent — and this is no longer a matter of politics or diplomacy, but of sheer rudeness. Apparently, he considers himself the new Talleyrand, commenting on everything in the Dashnak spirit of the First World War.

A French salad would do well to remember how it all ended. Those who, at the beginning of the twentieth century, incited the Armenian population to rebellion and defiance quickly packed their bags and fled to the far West, from where they loudly lamented the bitter fate of their "Armenian brothers," sipping champagne in expensive restaurants.

Meanwhile, ordinary Armenians who were left behind paid a heavy price for their mistakes and misplaced faith in their "older brothers." They paid for the crimes of others.
