12 April 2006 [00:25] - TODAY.AZ
"Let the Council of Europe freeze Azerbaijani delegation's mandate if it wishes to do that. However, no one has right to threaten Azerbaijan," Ali Hasanov, head of Presidential Administration socio-political department told journalists.
According to APA, the department chief said that the rerun of parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan scheduled for May 13 would be fair, democratic and transparent.

"Azerbaijan is an independent state and has its own state interests. No one, including president of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly Rene van der Linden has right to threaten Azerbaijan," Hasanov said.

Rene van der Linden has stated recently that PACE would reconsider Azerbaijani delegation's mandate in case the re-elections in the country were conducted in undemocratic way.
