Azerbaijan International Operating Company started Deepwater Guneshli predrilling programme

According to the information given to APA from AIOC, the “Dede Gorgud” semi-submersible rig to carry out the predrilling programme was brought to the site of DG today.

The drilling works of the first well here will be started till the end of this year. The predrilling programme to be carried out in DG downwards from the bearing tray of the platform consists of seven wells at present. Six of these wells are planned as the production wells and one for pumping the drilling tailings into the layer again.

Besides the predrilled platform wells, six submarine water-pumping wells are included in the DG predrilling works as well. These wells will be drilled by means of the “Dede Gorgud” semi-submersible rig as one part of Phase 3 modernization.

The general period planned for completion of the drilling programmes is about 2,5 years. The drilling contractor on the DG predrilling programme is the Caspian Drilling Company.
