First group of pilgrims to go on Hadj on 25 December

The first group of pilgrims from Azerbaijan will go on Hadj on 25 December 2005.
The Caucasus Moslems Board (CMB) told Trend about it.

The first group will go to Saudi Arabia on buses. The buses will follow the route Iran- Turkey-Syria- Jordan- Saudi Arabia. The pilgrims will have the opportunity to attend holy for the Moslem world places on their way, CMB said.

Believers, who have chosen the air route for making Hadj will fly out on 31 December. About 2500 believers will make Hadj this time through CMB. Out of this 1646 applications came from the future pilgrims, who preferred to make Hadj on buses. The pilgrims will come back in 23 and 17 days, respectively after departure.

Azerbaijan has received the total quota for 2800 people, from them 2600 places – for citizens of Azerbaijan and 200 – for foreigners residing in the country. Believers who go by bus will have to pay $ 1320, by the aircraft Boeing 737- will pay $ 2100.

Apart from CMB this year 3 more tourist companies of Azerbaijan organize the pilgrimage tours to Mecca “Hadj”. These companies are “Tur”, “Karvan D” and “President”. CMB assigned them the quota for 300 persons.
