Ilham Aliyev met with chairman of Lithuanian Seym

President Ilham Aliyev received the delegation led by the chairman of the Lithuanuan Seym Arturas Paulauskas.
This was informed to APA from the press-service of the President’s Office. The president informed that he rejoiced at successes achieved by Lithuania in the direction of integration to the European Atlantic territory and at the same time expressed his hope about this country’s supporting Azerbaijan in Azerbaijan’s integration to Europe in the frame of the mutual collaboration.

I.Aliyev said that Azerbaijan realized active integration policy to Europe and called our country’s being included in the new neighborship policy of the European Union the proof of conducting active works in that direction: “Azerbaijan passed into a new “personal collaboration stage” in its relations with NATO and we hope for the support of Lithuania in this field ”. The president informed that there were good possibilities for mutual collaboration between our countries. Our posiitons conform to each-other in  international problems, we have potential to develop our collaboration in the economic field: “Both Lithuania and Azerbaijan are the developing dynamical countries. I consider that there is a good perspective for strengthening economic collaboration between our countries. It is also very significant to develop the interparliamentarian relations. However, there is a little lack of information between our countries. That is why it is important to deepen the relations in different field”.

The chairman of the Lithuanian Seym A.Paulauskas, in his turn, said that the purpose of the visit is to strengthen collaboration between the two countries. The guest noted that there was some lack of information in the interparliamentarian relations and epxressed his hope that the first visit of the chairman of the Lithuanian parliament for last 15 years would stimulate the interparliamentarian relations.

“It makes me happy that Baku is called the financial center of the Caucasian countries” saying the chairman of the Seym, then informed about the activity of the parliamentarian structures of his country and stressed that they were ready to share their experience with the Azerbaijanis colleagues.
