GUUAM countries should exchange positive experience n the establishment of autonomies in the conflict territory, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated to a summit of GUUAM, a regional organization among Georgia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Moldova, held in Kishinev on Friday.
"Positive experience in establishment of autonomies in the territory of countries with regional conflicts ought to become an example in the resolution of problems under the GUUAM countries," the Azerbaijani President said. He assured that the people of Azerbaijan, who suffered from the conflicts would confidently resolve the problems in a democratic way. (Trend)

In his turn Ukrainian President Victor Yuschenko, stated that the key objective of the GUUAM was the establishment of the stability and security in the region, which should become a part of the European Union. He outlined three major goals of the international organizations - democracy, economic development and security. "This is the shortest way for the integration of the GUUAM into Europe," Yuschenko stressed. The political union have passed the state of political depression and entered new stage of political challenges," he underlined.

Moldova President Vladimir Voronin said that GUUAM Summit is to be successful. The participants in the summit are interested in the development of the stability and sovereignty in the region. "Moldova adopted some documents under the organization, which are sure to promote the development of democracy," the President said. The fact of participation of Lithuanian and Romanian Presidents testify for the prospects of the organization. "We hope in increase of efficiency of cooperation of GUUAM with the United States and the European Union," Voronin said.

Georgian President Michael Saakashvili said that Georgia and Moldova should demand rapid withdrawal of the Russian troops from their territory. "We stopped to be part of the empire a long ago and now are independent states pursuing own interests. The foreign troops might stay in the territory of other countries only upon agreement of the nation. I state by all responsibility that the people of Georgia is against of presence of the Russian troops in the territory of the court," Saakashvilii stated. According to Saakashvili, the countries entering GUUAM would better direct attention to the United States and the European Union in strategic interests on the development of democracy, security and economic reforms".

Aliyev proposed to work out unified mechanism and approaches to the resolution of regional conflicts. "The GUUAM countries face with serious problems in connection with the conflicts suspended for 15 years," the head of state."We must unite the efforts on the resolution of the conflicts, they are of common nature and common approaches should be found to resolve the problems," Aliyev noted. He said that it was dealt with conflict in Pre-Dnester, Nagorno- Karabakh, South Osetia and Abkhazia. "The conflicts do not allow our countries to develop normally, hinders the aspirations for the integration into Europe. We ought to find civilized mechanisms for their resolution," Aliyev underlined.
