Turkish World Youth Days and congress held - PHOTOS

The World Turkish Youth Union hosted the 15th Turkish world youth days and congress in Turkey, within the 20th anniversary of the Organization. Representatives of the National Assembly of Youth Organization of Azerbaijan (NAYORA) attended the event.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of WTYU Executive Committee Akram Abdullayev said that the organization has hosted 14 congresses, as well as chair council`s 11 meetings and several events during its activity.

Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of Turkish Speaking Countries Halil Akinci touched upon several Turkish States` independence after the fall of the Soviet Union and stressed the importance of joint activity of these countries.

On contributions of TurkPA, TURKSOY and other organizations, Mr. Akinci also stressed the necessity of activity of youth in this sphere.

Azerbaijan`s Deputy Minister of Youth and Sport Intiqam Babayev highlighted the contributions of the WTYU to the establishment of the friendship and fraternal relations in the Turkish world, adding Azerbaijan particularly attaches great importance to this activity.

He also briefed the participants on occupation of 20 percents of Azerbaijan`s territories by Armenian Armed Forces and condemned Armenia’s occupation policy. The event also saw speeches by representatives of Iraqi Turkmens Fevzi Akram Tarsi, Bulgarian Turks Rafet Murat Uluturk, Chairman of the World Azerbaijani Youth Union Ramin Mammadov, Former Resident Coordinator of UN in Azerbaijan, Ambassador Fikret Akcura.

The speakers stressed the role of the WTYU in the development of Turkish world, as well as integration of the Turkic speaking peoples, adding steps by Heads of the Turkish States gave a push to the activation of the society representatives.

The event also featured the Commissions` meeting of WTYU. The first summit of World Turkish Youth Journalists Union has also been held as part of the congress. Akram Abdullayev stressed the importance of journalists` union and spoke of the issues on the strengthening of the solidarity and cooperative relations among the Turkic speaking peoples` youth.

The event culminated with adoption of relevant decisions. The different events to the effect aroused keen interest among the participants.
