Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia launches new winter school project

New winter school themed "Leadership and active civic participation" initiated by Leyla Aliyeva, Chairperson of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia, has been launched.

Organized under the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Azerbaijan, the project is designed for Russian youth and will be implemented in Moscow from January 28 to February 3, 2013.

As part of the project it is planned to organize lectures, master classes, meetings with community leaders, government representatives of Azerbaijan and Russia in various areas of modern life for young people in Russia. The project is aimed at increasing participation of youth in important public processes and joint activities, development of leadership skills.

Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia (AYOR) is an all-Russian youth organization established on April 18, 2009 in Moscow, Russia. The chairperson of the organization is Leyla Aliyeva – vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and editor-in-chief of “Baku” magazine. The organization’s headquarters is located in Moscow, the capital of Russia.

Since the day of its foundation, AYOR has done much work and achieved sufficiently good results. The activity of the organization covers all spheres of youth life such as sports, culture, education and etc. Justice for Khojaly campaign carried out by the organization should be particularly emphasized. AYOR familiarizes Russian and Azerbaijani youth living in Russia with Azerbaijani culture and brings them together in different national holidays and ceremonies of Azerbaijan held in Russia.

AYOR is also engaged in charitable activities. As part of the “Blood Has No Nation” campaign volunteers of the organization donate blood to people in need. This campaign covers a lot of regions of Russia. The organization has also carried out such campaigns as “Make sure you are healthy – say “NO” to diseases”, joint program with UNAIDS within which activists of the organization carried out the anti-AIDS awareness campaign at universities and schools.
AYOR did much in bringing the Russian and Azerbaijani youth together and building friendly relations between them.
