Drug smuggling network revealed in Iran’s Western Azerbaijan province

Anti-drug department of the Iran’s Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted operation in the Western Azerbaijan province of Iran and revealed a drug smuggling network there.

Fars news agency reported that according to the anti-drug police chief Karim Akbari,11 smugglers, including two women were arrested and 87 kg of drug was seized. The network was smuggling drug produced in Afghanistan from Iran via Azerbaijan to Russia and Europe.
