"While criticizing Azerbaijan the European Union first shall look at itself", Egemen Bagis, Turkey’s State Minister for EU Affairs said. Hosting the foreign journalists in Istanbul, Bagis said human rights were violated in Europe itself.
Answering the question "Does Turkey keep its position on this issue, while European Union exerts pressure on it for opening the Turkish-Armenian borders?" the minister said: "The changes to the position of Turkey on this issue are out of the question. 20% of the Azerbaijani lands are under the occupation and one million people were expelled from their homelands and became refugees. Under these circumstances, what changes to the Turkey’s position can be the point at issue?"
