Azerbaijan's taekwondo fighter wins gold at Paris tournament

An international taekwondo tournament has wrapped up in Paris. Azerbaijani team won two medals. Ramin Aziz in weight category 80 kg defeated opponents from Sweden, the Central African Republic, Norway, Portugal, Greece, England and won the gold medal.

Elvin Mammadov (68 kg) in the fourth round lost to Portuguese athlete while Samir Aydin (58 kg) lost to the Greek at this stage.

In the women's event, Gunay Agakishieva (57 kg) overpowered an athlete from France, Germany (two) and Serbia but lost to Frenchwoman in the semifinals to claim bronze.

Khayala Guliyeva (49 kg) lost in the first round while Sabina Mikailova (57 kg) lost in the second encounter and Elena Abbasova (67 kg) dropped out of competition in the third round.
