
                     			
             
Twininq project "Support to ensure food quality and safety in Azerbaijan
 and the legal and technical improvement of certification of fish 
products in Azerbaijan", implemented by the State Service for 
Antimonopoly Policy and Consumer Protection under the Ministry of 
Economic Development of Azerbaijan with the support of the European 
Commission, has become one of the four most successful projects out of 
225, the ministry said.
Twining project is implemented under 2004-2010 Action Plan of the 
European Neighbourhood Policy. The project, implemented in Azerbaijan, 
joined the four most successful as reflected in the 2009 report on 
European Commission projects Twininq, TAIEX and Sigma.
The State Service for Antimonopoly Policy and Consumer Protection 
intends to further expand cooperation with certain institutions of the 
European Commission.
Twininq project has been implemented in Azerbaijan since October 1, 2008
 with the support of the relevant structures of Holland and Latvia. 
The 
aim is to provide exports of fishery products of Azerbaijan to the EU 
market. Since January 1, 2010, Azerbaijan has been included in the list 
of third countries which have permission to export caviar to the EU. 
Work is continuing on obtaining permission to export other types of 
fishery products to EU markets.
