Azerbaijan's canoe couple into final of world championship

Azerbaijani pair Sergei Bezuglov and Maxim Prokopenko have progressed to the final in the 1000m-race in the Canoe Sprint World Championship in Poznan, Poland. They secured the spot after timing 3.34.98 seconds, leaving behind foes from Czechia, Latvia, Canada, Hungary, UK, Chile and Vietnam.

About 830 canoeists from 71 countries will compete for 32 medals. Besides, 66 athletes from 30 countries will also compete in the paracanoe events.
