Turkish MP talks of Russia's approach to Nagorno-Karabakh conflict

13 May 2010 [15:21] - TODAY.AZ
Russian President Dmiry Medvedev’s talks with Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will help the Russian leadership to have more fair position based on reasonable and peaceful attitude towards the settlement of the Karabakh conflict, member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (Parliament) Haluq Ipek said.

Russia gradually takes a realistic approach to the Karabakh problem, the MP said.

"There is great merit of the Azerbaijani President in this respect. Moscow has its own interests in the South Caucasus, and we hope that frequent meetings between Russian and Turkish leaders would accelerate the peace process and build confidence in this region," Ipek added.

The Turkish MP says expanding economic relations and removing visas requirements between Russia and Turkey have a positive impact on settlement of the conflicts in South Caucasus.
