Garegin II was given wrong information - UPDATE

Press Office of the Caucasus Muslims Office released an official statement in connection with the information about visit of Catholicos of Armenians Garegin II to the Alley of Martyrs in Baku.

Mistaken view of visit of Garegin II to Alley of Martyrs was formed in connection with the fact that one of the officers who accompanied the Armenian Catholicos during his visits to various places of Baku gave out inaccurate information to the Catholicos.

After the information was studied, it turned out Garegin II and his companions did not visit the Alley of Martyrs.

Mother See of Holy Echmiadzin of Armenia denies information about visit of Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II to the Alley of Martyrs in Baku.

Head of the Caucasus Muslims Office Haji Allahshukur Pashazade said earlier in his interview with ANS that he advised Garegin II to look at shahids who died for Karabakh and “see the graves of our sons”.

“They went there together at night when nobody was there. Garegin II was deeply touched by what he saw there,” Pashazade said.

In this connection, Mother See of Holy Echmiadzin has appealed to the Caucasus Muslims Office to disclaim the information. Garegin II was in Baku to attend the World Summit of Religious Leaders on April 26.
