Turkey's president was given honorary doctorate by a Pakistani university on Wednesday.
Turkish President Abdullah Gul, who is currently paying a formal visit to Pakistan, was presented with an honorary doctorate title in the field of international relations by the country's Quaid-i-Azam University.
Delivering a speech during the ceremony at the Pakistani Presidential Palace, Gul talked of issues like "terrorism".
Describing Turkey and Pakistan as two countries eager to exert efforts for a better regional and global future, Gul said remarkable progress had been achieved in international initiatives supported by both countries.
Gul also said that Asian nations needed to solve the current problems such as energy demand, terrorism and unresolved conflicts as soon as possible in order to benefit from the huge potential of their continent.
He said Asian countries needed a common vision and effective communication to overcome the "threats".
