Georgian National Communications Commission (GNCC) has decided not to close the Imedi TV channel, which distributed plot on Saturday, imitating Russia's military aggression against Georgia, which caused panic among the population.
Upon the decision of the commission, which met on Monday for two hours, "Imedi" was obliged to make public declaration of apology and recognition that television has introduced people into astray.
Imedi TV Company is provided the opportunity to continue working, but it must answer for past serious violations," told the commission. This means a "breach of code of conduct for broadcasting agency."
The commission believes that Imedi applied a "proportionate measure", and the broadcasting should continue "in the interest of the consumers."
