Turkish built-power plant opened in Turkmenistan

Ahal gas turbine power plant constructed by Turkish energy company "Lotus Energy" was opened in Turkmenistan with a ceremony on Sunday.
Deputy Cabinet Chairman for Construction, Deryageldi Orazow and Energy Minister Yazmuhammet Orazgulyyew, businessmen and other sector representatives attended the inauguration ceremony of the "Ahal State Electric Power Plant" located 20 kms outside the capital.

Chairman of Lotus Energy board of executives, Erdal Celik who spoke during the ceremony said they have realised many projects in Turkmenistan adding that they would open the Turkmenbasi Electric Power Plant in April.

Lotus Energy built the Ahal power plant in two years with a total cost of 120 million Euro. It also built a 5,000 square meter storage unit for the diesel fuel and a railway for the transportation of this fuel to the power plant.

The 254 MWt power plant which is handed over to the Turkmenistan's energy authority Turkmenergo will provide uninterrupted electricity flow to the Ahal province.
