IMF: Georgia's economy shows signs of recovery

08 January 2010 [14:07] - TODAY.AZ
The Georgian economy has showed signs of recovery, although its full recovery depends on the global environment and simplification of the credit conditions in the country, the Georgian Kommersant radio station reported with reference to IMF Representative Edward Gardner's report on the state of Georgia's economy.

According to Gardner, the Georgian government's policy has created an environment conducive to overcoming the global crisis.

The recovery of economy will continue in 2011 and the main risk factor is the intensity with which the country will receive investments, he added.

"The International Monetary Fund (IMF) was able to achieve financial stability via the allocated aid," he said."

Presently, the attention is focused on macroeconomic stabilization."
