The United States sees the potential for further interaction with Russia in the sphere of missile defense, said Daniel Fried, US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia, at a briefing in Washington.
He noted that the same can be applied to the object in Qabala, as well as possible future US objects in Poland and Czechia and prospects of cooperation both with NATO and Russia.
According to the US diplomat, Russia's proposal on the conjoint use of Qabala radar station in Azerbaijan, made at the Russian-US meeting in Kennenbankport, was accepted by Washington. At the same time Fried noted that the United States want to see the Qabala radar station as part of a system, which includes US objects planned to be dislocated in Poland and Czechia.
