US Ambassador to Azerbaijan: "Establishment of democracy is impossible without independent media"

"Journalists face problems in Azerbaijan in performing their functions", Anne Derse, US Ambassador to Azerbaijan told journalists, APA reports.
The Ambassador said US supports free, objective and independent media because it was impossible to establish the democracy without independent media.

"The government, journalists and community should make efforts. The powerful media should contribute to the interests of all people, but not of individuals. Civil Society has to make efforts for the normal activity of independent media".
