Azerbaijan is loyal to partnership with NATO, therefore, we serve the international security in Kosovo and in other operations.
The due announcement was made by Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov, Day.Az reports.
He noted that Azerbaijan, like other NATO partner-countries participates in Afghanistan and Kosovo on equal rights.
"We have appealed to NATO that guarantees of peacekeepers' security, applied for NATO states differ from the guarantees of security of alliance partner-countries", he said.
At the same time, Azimov noted that political situation in Kosovo has changed. He noted that the situation in which UN resolution 1244 was adopted and on basis of which operation in Kosovo was carried out, has changed.
"Along with Azerbaijan, several countries also consider withdrawal of peacekeepers from Kosovo. Azerbaijan will take into account all elements of this process when adopting a resolution", he said.
The Deputy Minister noted that this does not mean introduction of changes regarding NATO and Azerbaijan intends to continue cooperation under current rates.
