Center of Democratic Elections proposing to form election commissions by Ukrainian model in Azerbaijan

Chairman of Azadlyg party Ahmed Oruj told Day.Az, that the arrangement was attended by 18 parties, representing the said association, activists of the Popular Front Party, representatives of the Azadlyg bloc, Our Azerbaijan bloc and a number of other public organizations.

"The meeting participants discussed election situation in the country, in particular, the composition of election commissions. We do not agree that the Venice Commission discuss the Election Code without participation of opposition. The opposition has good proposals on this issue.

In particular, we would like the Election Commissions to be formed bu Ukrainian model, when each party is represented by one person in the election commissions. Considering this situation, the participants of the round table agreed to undertake due measures in this direction", Oruj noted.

The round table participants also discussed the arrest of representatives of the Union of Democracy during the trip to the Salyan region.
