Unicapital becomes a shareholder of Baku Stock Exchange

11 February 2008 [16:04] - TODAY.AZ
In February, Unicapital bought from Unibank its share in the authorized capital of the Baku Stock Exchange.

“As a result of this transaction Unicapital has become a regular shareholder of a Closed Joint-Stock Company “The Baku Stock Exchange” with a stake equal to 5.56%”, says Ahmed Mehdiyev, General Manager of Unicapital.

The State Securities Committee under the auspices of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic licensed Unicapital in January to conduct brokerage and dealer operations, as well as to manage securities and funds.

Thus, Unicapital is in a position to start professional transactions selling and purchasing securities in the interests of the customers upon their instructions or based on commission contracts with them. Besides, Unicapital is now able to act as a dealer and enter into securities sales-and-purchase agreements on its own behalf and at its own expense.

The securities and funds management license permits the Company to perform  professional operations and transactions with securities or moneys entrusted to a professional participant of the securities market for management purposes.
