Vehicle import to Azerbaijan rises 14%

24,000 vehicles were imported to Azerbaijan for the period of January-April, said Safar Mehdiyev, deputy chair of the State Customs Committee.

The figure is 14.3% rise over the same period last year. Here doesn't include cars only. Between AZN 8 million and 15 million will come to the budget in the form of excise tax for the first five months, he concluded.

More than 70,000 vehicles were imported to Azerbaijan during 2006. The State Customs Committee predicts 60,000 vehicles to be imported for 2007. APA-Economics
