Azerbaijan boosts gas production more than a third in Q1

Azerbaijan boosted gas production 35.3% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2007 to 2.239 billion cubic meters.

The Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli project, operated by BP-Azerbaijan, yielded 730.76 million cu m, up 7.8% year-on-year. The Shah-Deniz project, also operated by BP-Azerbaijan, produced 172.25 million cu m.

SOCAR said its own gas production grew 36.8% year-on-year in the quarter to 1.336 bcm. Interfax
