He told the APA he did not believe that Meherremli woud grant a license to ANS. "He criticized Mir Shahin's statement on TV and said that license problem should not be discussed on TV. We invited Nushirevan Meherremli to 'Nezer Noqtesi' program several times, but he refused to come. He says he will come to ANS when necessary. I want to mention that censorship was abolished in the country by the late president Heydar Aliyev in 1998. He never punished journalists despite of their groundless article against him. I think Meherremli does not know that the real aim of the council is help the development of television and radio in the country. There are 49 TV channels in Georgia and 41 in Armenia. It is twice as much as in Azerbaijan. We do not want fight, but we can do it if necessary," the advisor said.
NTRC chief told the APA that allegations of ANS are groundless. "I think that personal problems should not be discussed on TV."
