He was accused not on Criminal Code Article 234.4.3 (getting or keeping illicit and psychotherapeutic drugs more than he uses for illegal selling), but on Article 234.1 (getting or keeping illicit and psychotherapeutic drugs more than he uses).

As APA reports, Mirza Sakit was sentenced for 3 years in conventional prison. It counts from the detention day, June 23.

Lawyer Vugar Khasayev noted that the court could take into consideration his five children and his first crime and give more light punishment.

"It shows that the court is biased. It is the heaviest punishment. The article sanctions maximum three years in prison," he said.

The lawyer said that they will appeal against the court's decision.
