Faig Hasanov to ref Kramnik-Topalov match

Vladimir Kramnik of Russia and Veselin Topalov of Bulgaria played to a draw on Monday after appeasing the scandal.

The game continued after FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumjinov's invitation to Azerbaijan Chess Federation vice-president Faig Hasanov. Hasanov will referee the game to ensure equality.

Kramnik refused Game 5 and Topalov clocked up victory. Kramnik stated his dissatisfaction and agreed to play with Topalov only after the changes in the Appeal Committee staff.

FIDE president met with the players and said Kramnik agreed with score 3-2 in his favour.

According to the regulations the player can object to result in two hours after the game ends. Both of the players are chess masters and deserve to be World Champions.
In six games the score is 3, 5: 2, 5 in Kramnik's favor. APA
