Iranian President rejects UN Security Council Resolution

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Tuesday rejected a UN Security Council resolution that would give his nation until August 31 to suspend uranium enrichment.

As APA reports, President Ahmadinejad insisted Tehran would pursue its nuclear program as it is a sovereign right of the Iranian people to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.

"My words are the words of the Iranian people. Throughout Iran, there is one slogan: The Iranian people consider the peaceful use of nuclear fuel production technology its right. We are not going to refuse our sovereign right," the Iranian President said.
