Azerbaijani Ministry to report Armenian arson activities to international conventions

"We assess the damages within the norms of Azerbaijan. We will make the damages more exact," Ecology and Natural Resources Minister Huseyn Bagirov told, according to APA.

He said that the facts have already been submitted to Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry and Azerbaijani representatives to international organizations. We have also prepared an appeal and will send it to international conventions Armenia joined.

"They took obligations upon themselves and they have to honor the commitments."

Mr.Bagirov said that Armenians commit the arsons on purpose.

"They are likely to commit arsons to strengthen their positions. They know better that these lands will never belong to them and they therefore carry out the ash land strategy by burning occupied lands of Azerbaijan. They mislead and try to pretend that the malicious fire is natural disaster. Of course, it is ridiculous. Natural fire never starts at night, it may start in daytime when weather is hot. They also claim that Azerbaijan burns the lands while we have satellite-taken photos proving the occupied lands are on fire. The fire reached the borderline in some territories."
