Around 300 evergreen saplings planted to increase green zones

An afforestation campaign has been organized by the employees of Clean City OJSC around the Balakhani Waste Disposal Facility,Azernews reports.

In the Green World Solidarity Year and ahead of COP29, 300 evergreen saplings have been planted in the area with the aim of increasing green zones, restoring ecological balance, and contributing to environmental protection.

It should be noted that conducting greening activities in this area, which has been cleaned of waste, has become a tradition, and the water separated from the waste undergoes special filtration and is used for watering the trees.

Since 2009, Clean City OJSC has planted nearly 15,000 trees of various species in its economic sectors as part of its efforts to protect the environment.

Note that Azerbaijan has been selected as the Presidency of the 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29), to be hosted in Baku on November 11-22.

Azerbaijan has a strong track record of hosting international events and has chosen Baku Stadium as the venue for COP29.

The main goal of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) is to attract as much of the private sector as possible to finance measures to combat climate change.
