President visits Tartar region

Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani President, visited the territories of Tartar region, close to the frontline.

As Trend reports, the Head of the country also met with servicemen and showed interest in the state of the military technique.

Then Ilham Aliyev participated in the opening of the ex-President Heydar Aliyev monument, erected in the central avenue. During his speech in front of the public, the President noted that Azerbaijan would be able to resort to different versions in order to regulate the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.

At present Azerbaijan prefers diplomatic way, but military version is also possible depending on the results of the negotiations. According to Aliyev, the conflict may be settled only on the base of territorial integrity.

The President stressed that these territories historically belonged to Azerbaijan and would remain so forever. "This visit confirms that Nagorno Karabakh is Azerbaijani territory," the head of the country said.

Aliyev added that peace talks would be continued in case of need. The same time he did not excluded possibility of dislocation of the peacemaking forces in the region in the framework of some progress in the settlement of the conflict.

The visit program includes participation in opening of the monument and the museum of Heydar Aliyev.
