World champion Elkhan Mammadov ahead of all rivals in judo ranking

International Judo Federation (IJF) has released its latest rankings according to results of the recent world championship in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in which Azerbaijan`s Elkhan Mammadov topped the 100kg division.

Mammadov, 31, is followed by Dutch Henk Grol who he defeated in the gold medal bout in Rio de Janeiro.

In the 60kg class, Azerbaijan`s Orkhan Safarov, a bronze winner in Rio de Janeiro, ranked 22nd.

Nijat Shikhalizade, Shahin Gahramanov and Elmar Gasimov ranked 7th in 66kg, 90kg and 100kg respectively.
