Georgia announces tender to restore parliamentary building

The first tender has been announced to restore the Georgian Parliament building in Tbilisi, deputy speaker Zviad Dzidziguri said at a press conference on Tuesday.

He said that the tender worth $ 1.5 million was announced for repair operations. Relevant information was published on the official web site of the Georgian state procurement agency.

Dzidziguri said that the $5 million tender will be announced later to reconstruct the hall of the parliament.

Moreover, it is planned to announce a separate tender to strengthen the buildings foundation.

Legislative changes associated with the official transfer of parliament from Kutaisi to Tbilisi are being actively prepared in the Georgian Parliament. However, 100 of 150 MPs' votes will be required for a parliamentary majority

The majority does not have such a number of supporters, but he hopes for the support of several MPs from the minority.
