Did Iran benefit from Israeli aggression against Gaza?

Despite the fact that the military operation of Israel, acting on the principle 'attack is the best form of defense', is directed against Hamas and Islamic Jihad, bombings cause the deaths of civilian population. This transforms the conflict into a more tragic and dramatic accident, than just elimination of military opponent.

What is happening is regarded as 'the next round of Israeli-Palestinian conflict' by most, but the analysis of situation in the entire Middle East region inevitably raises the question: why was the conflict launched now?

The belief that the Israeli aggression is related to the upcoming elections in the country and politicians from Tel Aviv are keen to earn more points, unleashing a new war against the Palestinians, seems to be too simplistic and superficial.

Meanwhile, the connection can be seen between what is happening in Gaza and the events around Syria.

The election of Muaz Khatib as a representative of the Muslim Brotherhood in Syrian National Council, created by the opposition and announced the legal representative of people's interests, is regarded as the most significant step taken for change of regime in the country.

Following Khatib's election, rocket attacks on Israel were intensified by the Islamic Jihad, which is the most reliable ally of Iran in Gaza. Many analysts say that the Islamic Jihad has taken this step, inspired by the 'Arab Spring', but these statements are not entirely correct. If this was true, the Islamic Jihad would have surely done it after the overthrow Hosni Mobarak in Egypt, who was Israel's closest ally in the region.

Analyzing these events and connection between the Islamic Jihad and Iran, one can see that this is not accidental and is aimed at keeping the power of Syrian regime. Because, despite the differences between the Islamic and the Arab world on the Syrian issue, no disagreements are observed in Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Being a supporter of Bashar al-Assad, Iran is well aware of this fact.

Tehran knows that what is happening is a part of plan to keep the Assad regime, but Israel has no alternative in this matter.

And if the Israeli military operation in Gaza, held in 2008, was considered a Jewish-Arab alliance against Iran, today Iran is using Gaza against the Arab world. Therefore, the notion that Israel's actions in Gaza, will put an end to Hamas and the Islamic Jihad is unconvincing.
