Chief Prosecutor's Office of Georgia issued a statement about detention of several officials of the Georgian Interior Ministry. Chief Prosecutor's Office reports that investigation has been launched into the fact of various crimes committed by some employees of the Georgian Interior Ministry.
Based on evidences, the following officials of the ministry were detained on Nov.15, 2012: Director of the Constitutional Security Department (CSD) Levan Kardava, CSD Deputy Director Vakhtang Bochorishvili, head of the CSD First Main Division George Kavlashvili, CSD Deputy Director Zaal Maisuradze, Chief of the 4th division of the CSD Ermaloz Ebanoidze, Deputy Chief of the 4th division of the CSD Vasil Dzhamalashvili, Deputy Chief of the 4th division of the CSD Avtandil Solomnishvili, Deputy Chief of the Operations and Technical Department of the Interior Ministry Beka Kvaratskhelia, Deputy Chief of the 3rd division of the CSD George Javakhadze, Deputy Chief of the 3rd division of the CSD Alexander Bortsvadze, former Deputy Interior Minister, Deputy Mayor of Tbilisi Shota Khizanishvili and Deputy Director of the CSD Vaja Leluashvili.
Today the Chief Prosecutor's Office intends to make public part of evidences, which served as grounds for the detention of these officials.
