Turkey is not going to restore the death penalty, and at the moment the issue is not considered, Anadolu agency quotes Turkish Justice Minister Sadullah Ergin as saying.
Earlier, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in his speech that if necessary, Turkey can restore the death penalty, noting that the death penalty remains in some countries, such as China and the U.S.
Leader of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Devlet Bahceli also supported the Prime Minister's idea.
The death penalty was abolished in Turkey in 2002.
