Quake jolts Iran

An earthquake measuring 4.2 Richter scale occurred in the Iranian city of Shiraz, the agency iribnews reported.

The tremors were registered today at 01:43 local time. There is no information on casualties or damage.

Iran is one of the most dangerous countries in the world in terms of seismic. According to scientists, weak earthquakes happen in the country, almost every day.

An earthquake measuring 6.2 magnitude occurred in the north-west of Iran on Aug. 11. More than 300 people died and about 2,500 were injured.

Roughly 110 of 538 villages were completely or partially destroyed as a result of tremors. About 5,000 buildings were damaged.
