11 September 2012 [10:20] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijan`s ambassador in Tehran has said his country is intended to continue providing assistance to Iran in tackling consequences of a recent quake.

Ambassador Javanshir Akhundov met head of Iran's Eastern Azerbaijan province, Alirza Beygi.
Akhundov said Azerbaijan regarded Iran`s tragedy “as its own”.

The ambassador said the government of Azerbaijan offered building a school or a hospital in one of Iran`s quake-hit regions.

Beygi praised the Azerbaijani government`s relief measures, and thanked the ambassador for assistance. Following the meeting the Azerbaijani ambassador visited a quake-hit zone where he saw reconstruction work and spoke to local residents.
